It’s finally happened! The $5.95 billion Marina Bay Sands Hotel, Singapore finally opened its doors to public in a gala event, and it also managed to dethrone the Emirates Palace Hotel, Abu Dhabi from its position as the world’s most expensive hotel. But that’s not all, the main attraction of the hotel is a 650ft wide pool perched up at the 55th storey of the magnificent hotel, making it the largest outdoor pool in the world that high. Called as the Infinity pool, the drop at the edge of the pool spills into a three-tiered catchment which pumps water right back to the main pool! The hotel also has a boat-shaped ‘SkyPark’ on top of the three towers.
The hotel features 2,560 rooms that would cost you $520 a night. Designed by Moshe Safdie, the structure is said to be based on the design resembling a deck of cards. The hotel décor includes an indoor canal that has Sampan boats to ride in, a casino, an outdoor plaza, a convention centre, a theatre, a crystal pavilion and a lotus flower shaped museum. The resort will open employment to over 10,000 locals, enough to generate $72m each year.

The 30,000 ft² retail area ill include fine retail stores on the residential side along the park and terrific restaurants around the Marina. The Tameer Towers will be a perfect getaway for Abu Dhabi.

The Full Moon Hotel in Baku is designed to leave visitors jaw-dropped with its beautiful structure. Located at Absheron peninsula on the west coast of the Caspian Sea, this hotel has a glass front that reminds one of a Death Star. The 35 story luxury hotel will have 104,182 square meters of space and 382 rooms. The 521-foot-tall hotel’s large rooms are sure to push up the comfort level by a few notches. The structure of the Full Moon Hotel is essentially a disc with rounded edges and a hole in one of the top corners that appears radically different from the view depending on the angle it is seen from. This hotel is sure to make Azerbaijan, a little country between Russian and Iran a much visited place.

You can also catch a glimpse of tropical fish as they swim by the floor-to-ceiling windows. The resort will house a 3000 square feet rotating restaurant and bar, a reception lounge, a library, a conference room, a wedding chapel and a spa too. The Apeiron Island Hotel packs 438 suites, private cinemas, luxury boutiques, conference rooms, and an underwater restaurant with views into the surrounding lagoon, an underwater gym, a spa and an art gallery. The hotel has a jungle theme and the top two floors of the hotel will even feature a temperature-controlled butterfly jungle with tropical species. Don’t expect tigers or bears as such though.

And to show just how expensive it can get, we present you with a list of the world’s top 10 most expensive marinas as compiled by Wealth Bulletin with help from Superyachts.com and Floating Life. Prices mentioned are for 70m yachts.
The first place is bagged by Capri, Italy. Average daily mooring fee for super-yachts here is a whopping €2,900 ($3,950) and there are only 10 super yacht berths. A favorite destination of the rich and the famous, berths here must be booked way in advance and are not available to buy or rent. Besides the scenic beauty, Italian brands like Prada, Pucci, Ferragamo, Versace and Gucci attract the luxury loving super yacht owners to this island.

Porto Cervo, Sardinia also in Italy comes in at the second spot with an average daily mooring fee for super-yachts set at €2,500 ($3,400). The number of super yacht berths is 60. Another favorite destination of the rich and the famous, an annual mooring fee for a 40 meter boat costs around €115,000 ($156,665) here. While a daily mooring fee at the exclusive Yacht Club Costa Smerelda can cost more than €2,500 ($3,400)!

Another Italian marina, Portofino, Liguria, comes in at number three. With average mooring fee of €2,350 ($3,200) for super yachts, this marina has only 6 berths making it one of the most exclusive harbors ever!
