Royal Salute 62 Gun Salute Luxury Whisky
Whisky might not be as glamorous as wine or champagne but that’s not stopping makers from coming out with really swanky ones.
Chivas Brothers (makers of the popular Scotish whisky Chivas Regal) created the Royal Salute Whisky back in 1953 to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation. Royal Salute’s the only range to be aged 21 years and older.
Since then, the Royal Salute Whisky’s had four master blenders who safeguard the process to maintain the same quality. A special range – the 62 Gun Salute – is the only one to be aged 40 years and above. It’s considered as Chivas’ nod to the four master blenders.
It will go on sale towards the end of 2010 priced at $2,200.
Most Expensive Toy: Althof Bergmann Santa Sleigh
Check out what’s the most expensive toy these days. Thanks to the James D. Julia Toy, Doll and Advertising auction, this Althof Bergmann Santa Sleigh fetched a whopping $161,000.
The toy’s considered as “the rarest and most important of all early-American tin toys.” Unlike Santa’s typical depiction, the toy features goats pulling the sleigh instead of the now-typical reindeer.
The toy is the most expensive toy sold in the past three years and is the most expensive American tin toy in an auction in the past 15 years.
The Pavilions Private Spa Villas in Phuket

Oh sure, the place has got a name that’d send kids snickering but Phuket’s one of top tropical destinations on the planet and here’s one additional reason why:
The Pavilions, Phuket is set to introduce private spa villas. Yup, now there’s such a thing. You can have your own private getaway villa that’s also a fully equipped spa.
The spa villas span 60 square meters and have their own separate steam/shower room and therapists use a separate side entry for the guests’ own privacy.
The place opens this November. There will be 24 new villas with 6 as swanky Plantation Pool Penthouses and 18 Plantation Pool Pavilions.
Montblanc Queen Elizabeth I Fountain Pens
Check out the latest in Montblanc‘s limited edition writing instrument (yeah, the many-syllable alternative to “pen”) which celebrates Queen Elizabeth I.
The pens are part of the new Patron of Art Edition Pens and comes in two variants – the 4810 and the even more limited 888 edition.
The lacquer of both editions is modelled on the queen’s royal garments. The cap features the British Crown cross, the royal insignia and the Tudor Rose. The words “Video et taceo” – the queen’s supreme prinviple – is engraved as well.
The 4810 edition have a body and cap of black resin with gold-plate inlay while the 888 is a solid gold fountain pen with a red lacquer barrel and cap. The nibs are hand-crafted 18K gold with engraved royal crown motif.
He could smell like he took you on more of these
Isaiah Mustafa’s first Old Spice commercial (the man your man could smell like) has been nominated for an Emmy award for Outstanding Commercial. You can read more at the LA Times.
And here he is again, this time, on a boat. Many thanks to Abyss for the link!
And the Eternal Magic goes to…
More limited edition collector fragrance bottles, with the usual disclaimers: in most of these cases, the juice is unchanged, just the bottle is “special” (or not, as the case may be), and some of these may not be available in the US.

From Calvin Klein, CK One in the “we magnets” edition — it comes with 40 small magnetized beads. What you do with the beads escapes me, but they’re meant to symbolize ‘the connection between us all’. In 100 ml Eau de Toilette, due to launch this month…
